Our charity quiz night helped to raise more than £5000 for Ukraine Emergency ambulance appeal!

Accrington Stanley Football Club became the backdrop for an extraordinary occasion as our team here at Sagar Insurance in Padiham, Burnley, organised a charity quiz night. The event was an overwhelming success and the generosity displayed on the quiz night, as well as the support from local businesses providing prizes for the raffle, made the event even more impactful. The event was attended by 93 individuals, from across the local area, who were able to provide much-needed contributions.

Neil Baxter, our Managing Director, expressed his gratitude and mentioned the humbling experience of witnessing the generosity of the attendees; and the local businesses who supported us with raffle prizes. “It was great to see so many people associated with our business at the charity quiz night including clients, friends, families, colleagues, and our insurer partners. We are delighted our quiz night achieved so much and gave everyone a chance to contribute to the amazing humanitarian effort.”

Neil, who leads a team of 20 at our firm's base on Shuttleworth Mead Business Park, added: “We were humbled by the generosity shown on the night and from local businesses who supported us with prizes for the raffle. Thanks to everyone involved, our total exceeds £5000.”

As part of The County Group, our team at Sagar Insurances have been actively supporting British Ukrainian Aid with the aim of raising £30,000 for two second-hand ambulances. The fundraising efforts have been passionately led by our Commercial Director, Paula Williams, and her husband Paul. Their commitment to the cause goes beyond just collecting donations; they plan to personally drive the ambulances to the Polish-Ukrainian border. So far, £14,000 has been raised across The County Group's 40 branches, showing the commitment and support from colleagues.

Congratulations to our Burnley office and everyone involved in the quiz night for their tremendous success. We are immensely proud of our team and grateful to everyone who contributed to the evening. The funds raised will undoubtedly contribute to the appeal and provide much-needed support to those caught up in the conflict.
