Flood Fayre 2017

Sagar Insurances has partnered with The Rawtenstall Flood Forum to provide information and advice to local residents and businesses about the risks of flooding in the area. The event is a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to find out more about flood risks and how to be protected.

The Flood Fayre is a free event that takes place on Thursday 29th of June 2017 from 2pm to 8pm at St. Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall.

Protect your home and business from flooding

The inaugural forum is co-hosted by Sagar Insurances, whose specialists can answer any questions that visitors have about their property insurance and policies that can protect them in the event of flooding.

Rawtenstall Flood Forum has estimated that around 6,500 properties in the Rossendale area are at some degree of flood risk. Torrential downpours in 2015 caused the River Irwell to burst its banks, causing significant damage to homes and businesses in Rossendale.

Sagar Insurances Claims Director Derek Rigby said: “This is an opportunity for residents and local businesses affected to have their say. The objective of the exercise is to enable everyone present to gain an improved understanding on what solutions are available.”

The Flood Fayre will be attended by industry experts, including representatives of the National Flood Forum, the County and Borough Councils, the emergency services and the Environment Agency. The event will be officially opened by Councillor Alyson Barnes, the Leader of Rossendale Borough Council.
